The panoramic work for the penal institution in Zaanstad was realized as a participatory project with 350 members of their staff. Under direction of Zijlmans & Jongenelis they created temporary impressions of constructive elements of a bridge, by balancing each other using ropes and bamboo sticks. Zijlmans & Jongenelis digitally assembled the bridge from photo’s of these balance situations. A total of a thousand photo’s was used to create the image that is spread out over seven panels. The panels are translucent lambda Duratrans prints mounted in LED backlit panels. The work is situated in the staff restaurant.

World Oceans Film Festival Den Haag 2013

On the World Day of the Oceans, the 8th of June, Satellietgroep in cooperation with the exhibition ‘Yes Naturally’ in the Gemeentemuseum The Hague, The Netherlands, organises an open air screening with several short films. We have selected films/documentaries and video’s by international artists/filmmakers which reflect on social and/or environmental issues connected to the sea or ocean.

Vanaf 12 juni is de Dirty Pastel collectie en de reclame-campagne te zien in SPRMRKT op de Rozengracht 191-193 in Amsterdam. De Dirty Pastel posters hangen van 12 tot en met 18 juni door de hele stad. Vanaf 10 juni zijn er langs de Tasmanstraat in Amsterdam West drie grote billboards te zien met beelden van de fotoshoots in de Houthavens.
Dirty Pastel is mogelijk gemaakt door: Mondriaan Fonds, Amsterdams Fonds voor de Kunsten, Stadsdeel West Amsterdam, het 4e Gymnasium, projectburo Houthaven, Strand West.

De canon van de Nederlandse geschiedenis is in het leven geroepen als een handleiding voor ‘wat iedereen van de Nederlandse geschiedenis zou moeten weten’, ingedeeld in vijftig onderwerpen. In de tentoonstelling Half suiker, half zand neemt hoofdredacteur Hanne Hagenaars van kunsttijdschrift mister Motley het meest recente deel van deze canon – vanaf de Tweede Wereldoorlog tot heden – onder de loep.

Grote Kunst voor Kleine Mensen is in 2005 geïnitieerd door Nathalie Faber en Carolien Euser. De collectie korte films zijn gemaakt door gerenommeerde kunstenaars en filmmakers. De films zijn de afgelopen jaren te zien geweest op verschillende (inter)nationale filmfestivals zoals Cinekid filmfestival.

La La La Human Steps is an exhibition of works from the collection of Museum Boijmans Van Beuningen, the internationally renowned fine arts museum in the Netherlands. Founded in 1849, the museum in Rotterdam has a large international collection of modern and contemporary artworks as well as old master paintings, prints and drawings.

De tentoonstelling God Save the Queen gaat over de periode 1977-1984, toen jongeren ten tijde van hoge werkloosheid, woningnood en dreiging van de bom uit een uitzichtloze situatie braken. Ze namen het heft in eigen hand, want van de overheid hadden ze niets te verwachten. Ze kraakten de slooppanden van de steden en begonnen daarbinnen nieuwe bedrijfjes. Doe-het-zelf was het motto. Ook de muziek en de kunst werden door de jonge generatie flink opgefrist: de punk verjoeg de gekunstelde symfonische rock van de jaren zeventig, en de kunstenaars maakten hun doeken en broeken weer vuil met verf.
Nederland staat centraal in de tentoonstelling, maar wat hier gebeurde kan niet los gezien worden van het buitenland. Kenmerkend was namelijk de gretige nieuwsgierigheid naar wat zich in de omringende landen en de VS afspeelde. De Duitse wilde schilderkunst was een van de inspiratiebronnen, een andere was de graffiti die uit New York kwam overwaaien. In de tentoonstelling worden werken getoond van Walter Dahn, Georg Dokoupil en de Amerikanen Keith Haring, Rammellzee en Jean-Michel Basquiat. René Daniëls, Hewald Jongenelis, Rob Scholte en Roland Sips vormden samen een Spray Armee, in een poging een Nederlands antwoord te geven op de Amerikaanse graffiti.
